HETERODYNE
A musical instrument for Android and iOS

An instrument you play with your hand in the air

The front camera sees your palm: distance sets the pitch, moving left and right sets the volume. No wires, no sign-up.

How it works

Playable from the first minute

01

Show your palm to the camera

The app finds your hand in frame and starts sounding. Move your hand away and the sound fades out smoothly.

02

Farther is higher

Pitch depends on the distance between your hand and the camera. You can flip the direction in settings.

03

Right is louder

Volume changes as your hand moves left and right. A slight wobble becomes vibrato.
